Homecoming Blessings
When I speak on personal transformation, I start with the foundation that I call the 3 Understandings. 1.) We are all interconnected by a Universal fabric/consciousness and are essentially one unit. You are not an independent being with a discrete outcome. What you do matters to all the world. Everything in form is in relationship to everything else. Every thought, every cell in your body is part of the greater whole AND the greater good. 2.) The energy you put out is the energy you get back, ie. The Law of Attraction. When you are loving and forgiving, you receive love and forgiveness. When you are mean and resentful, you block your blessings and receive fearful challenges in your life. 3.) When you place your loving desires into the Universal consciousness through prayer and meditation you manifest your desires. These are the conditions for “Ask and it is given.”
So why is homecoming so fantastic?!? Because it’s a demonstration of the Understandings or Universal laws. We ALL feel connected at homecoming. Understanding #1. The love of old friendships, of going through trials of becoming an adult, determining majors, experiencing the birth and loss of new love. We all shared these experiences and so we have a oneness. We rally around the Marching 100 band, the campus and the football team. We exchange new ideas and catch up on old times, bridging the gap of time and space.We came with the intention of fun and enjoyment! To be happy and experience laughter and joy. We came with love, and what did we attract? Love. Understanding #2. I mean even the disagreeable events were funny. The monster-like Florida bugs, the designated driver conundrum and the heat, my goodness it was hot. It was so oppressively hot on game day, you could do nothing but sweat and remember—I’m in FLORIDA!These are all spiritual practices. Just because they were done without awareness for many makes them no less effective. They are Universal Laws, just like gravity. When you recognize a spirit of oneness, you are lifted. When you put out positive energy, you receive it back.Understanding #3 however, requires conscious participation for grace to reveal itself in your life. This Homecoming “high” of reconnection, when bundled with the feeling of happiness in creates the fertile landscape to co-create in your own life. This confluence of events creates the perfect environment to manifest your desires and let your blessings shower down. It’s like a garden. The soil is ready. It’s been fertilized and watered and is just waiting for seeds to be planted and bear life.So, take advantage of this season, and use this fertile field to plant your seeds. Spend time in prayer and meditation in the universal oneness and set your intentions. Send your blessings, receive your abundance. This is the time. Some find the idea of seeing old acquaintances and the activities depressing. This is a reminder that you are not an outsider. You matter. Your presence blesses the rest of us, and your absence is a missed opportunity for the spiritual growth of us all. And so, we lift our eyes to the Universal Understandings and look beyond the surface and the mundane. Love & Unity is God stuff. You belong. It can be no other way.This works for everyone whether you went to FAMU or not. It is available in every occasion… homecomings, family reunions, class reunions. It is available every time you come home to your family at night, meet a friend, or share a smile with a stranger. Let the energy of ‘homecoming’ wake you up to your best life every day. Your best life is here now, waiting to shower down on you. Prepare your field, open your heart, and receive.Love & Light,TK
